About this audit, how to use the framework, and inclusion / exclusion criteria.
Aim: benchmark local PE investigation, risk stratification, anticoagulation, escalation and follow-up against national guidance, and identify QI opportunities.
Standards: NICE NG158, BTS PE guidance, ESC PE guidance, NHS England thrombosis guidance, and local trust pathways.
Setting: ED, AMU, inpatient wards, ambulatory emergency care, respiratory and assessment areas.
- Configure project details in Setup.
- Add your audit Team.
- Enter anonymised episodes in Data Collection.
- Track compliance on the Dashboard and Audit Standards pages.
- Review records under Submissions.
- Generate outputs from Export Centre.
Include: adults ≥18 investigated for suspected PE or with confirmed PE during attendance/admission.
Exclude: paediatrics, chronic PE without acute presentation, incidental PE (if locally excluded), and records with insufficient documentation.
